This project takes place on a small hill close to the famous St Charbel church in Lebanon.
Two white veils complete the main structure and symbolize two palms imitating contemplation; while at the center is the altar where the sermon takes place, and on the sides is the chorus.
The simplicity of the design and architecture facilitate recollection and draws attention to the center, creating unity and federating the believers. On the sides the veils are slightly opened, evoking openness, and allow access to the nave.
Similarly to Alvar Aalto's design, we chose to use mostly timeless and qualitative materials that make it a space where time is suspended.
