As the Olympic Games never cease to question humanity about its ability to come together and push back the frontiers, a metaphysical heart beats within a technological environment given over to communication and media. This is the essence of the modern games where existential questions have persisted since antiquity, and communications technologies enable humanity to come together every four years around a shared dream.
The minimalistic simplicity of the space is as much about the rationalisation of its economic form that can be dismantled and reproduced as it is about the desire to rediscover a fully legible architectural expression embodying its timelessness, as might be expressed through a symbol whose pure lines are reminiscent of such artefacts of antiquity as the pyramid or the monolithc ziggurat.
