Skate House LA
This study is the result of a reflection on movement and inhabiting.
After talking with the magazine Thrasher, dedicated to skateboard, we wanted to develop a house around that theme and where all gestures and movements would be dependent on that transport mode.
As a result, the house is conceptualized to be fluid and circular, so that one can go from one room to another on a skateboard. The raw materials used were specifically chosen to withstand the wear from skateboarding, and to have fluid forms adapted to the activity.
The entire design, from the exterior to the interior, takes into account this type of transport, as the furniture, the shapes, and their placement all allow skating and sliding.
At the center, the ramp is visible from all the rooms inside through a system of floor-to-ceiling windows in plexiglass that makes the space luminous and allows access to the terrace.
